Last Wednesday, Jesus Ferreira delivered the first hat trick in the history of the Tulsa Roughnecks FC franchise.  Today, Ferreira was honored for his performance, being named the USL Player of the Week.  He is the first TRFC member to receive the Player of the Week award since Ian Svantesson in May of last season.

Ferreira received 40 percent of the vote in a poll conducted with a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. San Antonio FC’s Lance Laing finished second with 30 percent after recording two goals and two assists in SAFC’s two wins in Week 26.

The 17-year-old Ferreira, who is on loan to the Roughnecks from FC Dallas of Major League Soccer, had the his best game as a professional in Tulsa’s 4-4 draw with Seattle Sounders FC 2.  He netted the first of his three goals in the first half, before scoring a pair of goals in the second half just two minutes apart.

Ferreira, whose dad, David Ferreira, was the MVP of Major League Soccer in 2010, has scored six goals for the Roughnecks this season, second only to the ten goals from Joaquin Rivas.
