The Tulsa Roughnecks FC wrapped up a busy stretch of four games in eleven days Tuesday night with a 0-0 draw with Orange County SC in southern California. The one point from the scoreless battle improves TRFC’s season point total to 33 with a 10-9-3 record.
The result helped Tulsa move into sixth spot in the USL’s Western Conference standings. The Roughnecks have now lost only one time in their past nine matches, dating back to July 1.

Orange County improved to 28 points with the draw. OC has a record of 7-6-7 and sit in ninth position in the Western standings. The top eight teams qualify for the USL playoffs.
The Roughnecks controlled play through most of Tuesday’s match, especially in the second half. Tulsa finished with a 54-46% advantage in possession and out-shot Orange County 16-5.
TRFC’s best chances to get a goal and take home the full three points came in the final 45 minutes. Joey Calistri had his header saved by OC keeper Charlie Lyon in the 57th minute, and Brian Wright and Jaime Ayala had good chances blocked in the penalty area seconds apart in the 61st minute.
Tulsa came closest to scoring in the 77th minute when Modou Jadama’s header appeared headed for goal, but a defender deflected the shot and Lyon dived to stop the ball just inches from going over the goal line.
TRFC goalkeeper Fabian Cerda was left with little to do in the second half. Orange County’s best chance at a goal in the half came on the game’s final kick. Ayala was called for a foul about five yards outside the box in the final seconds, but the free kick from OC sailed high over the crossbar.
The shutout marked Cerda's sixth clean sheet in USL play this season.
The Roughnecks had ten corner kicks in the match, compared to only two for Orange County. Lyon was officially credited with four saves, while Cerda registered two.
TRFC played the match without captain Juan Caffa and right back Kosuke Kimura. Both were out with injuries as Caffa missed his second straight game and Kimura his fourth straight.
The game marked the opening of Orange County's new Championship Soccer Stadium.
Tulsa will now get a week off before returning to action next Wednesday night with the second of six straight away matches. The Roughnecks will travel up Interstate 44 for a rematch with Saint Louis FC. TRFC recorded a 2-1 win over STLFC last Thursday at ONEOK Field. Kickoff on Wednesday in Missouri is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
