The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will make their second of three trips to California this season when they face Los Angeles Galaxy II on Thursday.  Kickoff for the USL regular season match is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. CDT at the Stubhub Track Stadium.

The Roughnecks will carry a two-match winning streak into the contest after defeating the Real Monarchs 2-0 at ONEOK Field on July 1, followed by a 2-1 win in Oklahoma City over the Energy on July 8.  TRFC has never won three straight regular season matches.

The Roughnecks currently sit in eighth position in the Western Conference standings with 21 points and a 7-8-0 record. The top eight finishers in the conference table qualify for the USL playoffs.

Galaxy II enters the match in 14th spot in the standings with 14 points through a 4-11-2 record.  Los Dos has two wins in its last five matches, including a 4-3 win over Portland Timbers 2 in its last outing.

The Roughnecks are 0-3-1 all-time against LA Galaxy II. In two previous visits to LA, TRFC has suffered a pair of 2-0 defeats with one coming in the 2015 season and another last year. Tulsa’s only point against Los Dos came in a 2-2 home draw last season.

Saturday’s victory in OKC improved the Roughnecks away record this year to 2-5-0. Conversely, Los Dos is only 1-6-1 at home with the one victory coming in a 2-0 win over Whitecaps FC 2 in the first match of the season.

Thursday’s match in LA can be viewed live online through the USL Match Center on YouTube by clicking HERE.

The Roustabouts will host a Watch Party for the match at Empire Bar for fans ages 21 and over.  Empire is located at 1516 S. Peoria Avenue in Tulsa.

The Roughnecks will be without their captain, Juan Pablo Caffa, for the match on Thursday.  Caffa will have to serve a mandatory one-game suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in Saturday’s match.

The Roughnecks place in the Western Conference standings looks even better when you factor in the number of matches each team has played.  Tulsa currently has games in hand on six of the seven teams that are in higher spots of in the standings.

Following the game in LA, the Roughnecks will have a week to prepare for one of their highest profile matches of the season.  On Saturday, July 22, Phoenix Rising FC will visit ONEOK Field for the only time during the regular season.  The Rising’s roster includes international superstars Didier Drogba, Omar Bravo and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Drogba and Wright-Phillips both starred for English Premier League side Chelsea FC, with Drogba helping the Blues win the UEFA Champions League crown in 2012.
Bravo has made 66 appearances for the Mexico National Team during his illustrious career, scoring 15 times.
Tickets for the match are available at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office or by clicking HERE.
