A van carrying six players for the Tulsa Roughnecks was involved in an accident Wednesday morning when travelling from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Jacksonville.
Four of the six players required medical treatment and were transported to local hospitals. Three of the four have received treatment for minor injuries and have been released.
Midfielder Henri Manhebo has required the most care. He is still receiving treatment for his injuries and is resting comfortable, in stable condition.
“It is has been a trying for everyone involved with the Roughnecks,” said Mike Melega. “We are very fortunate that the accident was not much worse. We ask everyone to keep Henri in your prayers and that we see him back on the field shortly.”
The Roughnecks have been in Florida since last Friday for preseason training.
