The first 1,500 fans of all ages to enter the stadium through the Arvest and Oil Derrick Entrances with a paid admission will receive a “Saint Brady,” Brady Ballew jersey compliments of Oculto, The News on 6 and Sports Animal Radio. The jersey is modeled after the tifo produced by the Roustabouts to honor the midfielder who scored the first goal in franchise history in last year’s opening match.
THE TWO TEAMS – TRFC will enter the match with four points from its first four matches and with a 1-2-1 record. Timbers 2 will come in with a three points in five matches with one win and four losses on the season.
OCHOA & PETERS TO RETURN – Captain Sammy Ochoa will be back in the squad after missing Tulsa’s last match, a 0-0 draw against Saint Louis FC, while serving his one-game suspension for a controversial red card from the April 9 match with the Real Monarchs.
Defender Anthony Peters is also expected to be available for Head Coach David Irving. Peters has missed the past three matches while recovering from a head injury he sustained in the season’s opening match.
LEE AILING – While Ochoa and Peters return, left back Raymond Lee will miss the match after suffering a muscle strain in Saturday’s match with STLFC.
In addition, Cristian Mata will be a game time decision on whether he will be available as he continues to recover from an ankle sprain.
SEEING RED – The Roughnecks will wear their red, third kits for the first time this season in the match. The kits give recognition to the original Roughnecks who played in the old North American Soccer League from 1978-1983, winning the North American Championship in 1982. The kits are replicas of the home uniforms worn by the Roughnecks in their first-ever season in 1978.
SERIES HISTORY – TRFC and Timbers 2 met twice last season with Portland sweeping the series. Timbers 2 recorded a 3-1 win in Tulsa on May 30, 2015 before claiming a 2-0 victory in the return leg in Portland on August 22. Kharlton Belmar, who is again on the Timbers 2 roster, accounted for two of Portland’s five goals in last year’s meetings.
LOOKING FOR GOALS – Both teams have struggled to score goals this season, with each side finding the back of the net only three times.
ALEX MANGELS – Goalkeeper Alex Mangels recorded his second shutout of the season in last Saturday’s draw with Saint Louis. Mangels has surrendered only three goals in four matches and leads all USL keepers with 29 saves and a .906 save percentage.
