TAMPA, Fla. – The USL has announced the initial set of games that will be aired nationally in the USL Game of the Week on ESPN series, with visits to some of the league’s top teams and venues taking the spotlight over the coming weeks. Every game will also be simulcast on SiriusXM FC (Ch. 85) over the course of the 2017 season.
OKC Energy FC hosts Sacramento Republic FC on Tuesday night to kick off the second season of the partnership between the USL, the world’s largest Division II league, and ESPN. The national spotlight will return to Taft Stadium on June 6 when Omar Bravo, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Phoenix Rising FC visit the historic venue.
FC Cincinnati’s second all-time meeting with the Tampa Bay Rowdies will be aired on Wednesday, April 19, as one of two broadcasts to come from Nippert Stadium to start the season slate. Also set to feature is the Harrisburg City Islanders’ visit on Wednesday, June 26, as Cincinnati takes aim at another record-breaking season at the box office.
Rio Grande Valley FC and the newest soccer-specific stadium in the USL, H-E-B Park in Edinburg, Texas, will welcome the national spotlight on Wednesday, June 19, when Orange County SC visits. The Toros will also feature in one of the biggest Western Conference clashes of the season when they visit Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy’s Park on Wednesday, June 21.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Rochester Rhinos are also set to host games in the upcoming weeks, with the two historic clubs squaring off with two newer faces as Toronto FC II visits Highmark Stadium on Wednesday, May 3, and the Tampa Bay Rowdies visit Capelli Sport Stadium on Wednesday, May 24.
The remainder of the 2017 USL Game of the Week schedule will be announced at a future time, with key contests from the stretch run to the 2017 USL regular season set to be aired as the battle to reach the USL Cup Playoffs intensifies.
